What does Shop Safe approval mean for the customer?
|
|
All of the sites listed on Shopsafe meet their safe shopping standards. The majority of sites that apply to be listed on Shopsafe get rejected, so getting a listing on Shopsafe is difficult to do. To gain approval the website has to comply with and offer :
- Online ordering and secure of credit card payment transactions.
- Product prices and delivery prices that are clearly displayed.
- A wide range of products, suitable for "high street" consumers.
- Sites that aren't just clones of other sites, or purely data feeds of other people's products.
- Sites that are based in the UK and deliver to the UK.
- Full contact details including phone and fax numbers, postal and e-mail addresses and a contact for complaints. We won't accept sites with just a PO box number.
- Prominent display of customer service information, including delivery information, a refunds and returns policy and information on how to cancel contracts.
- A full privacy policy.
- Terms and conditions that are clearly displayed.
- Good design, making the site quick to load, easy to use and multi-browser compatible.
- Compliance with the latest legislation regarding electronic communications and disability acts.

All About The Home Certification Policy
You will see many sites with internet safe approvals. The vast majority of these sites either require an ongoing fee or have a vested interest in the revenue generated through advertising on their site i.e. If you don't advertise you don't get listed. As with all aspects of our trading we expect any review of the site to be honest and most importantly impartial. It is for this reason that Shop Safe and iSafeSite have been used to vet our trading practices. Shop Safe do not require any fees or advertising to be taken in order to be accredited and therefore do not have anything to gain in declaring us a safe site to deal with. iSafeSite required us to pay a one off registration fee of £20. Thereafter all monitoring etc is carried out without charge and once again do not have a vested interest in the site. If you would like to discuss any aspect of our approvals please do not hesitate to contact us.
