It uses a pedelec system, meaning the Panasonic motor senses when and how hard the pedals are being used. Your pedalling is converted into motor power which drives the rear wheel through the chain and gears. Specifics

Drive System - Kalkhoff bikes are fitted with the latest Panasonic pedelec power system - a 10Ah Lithium Manganese battery pack with integrated power indicator, motor system and torque sensor, as well as a built in rear wheel lock. The battery pack can be unlocked and removed for charging, or left locked securely in place on the bike when parked

Power Control - Switch on and go. Kalkhoff pedelec bikes are controlled with a neat, waterproof console mounted on the handlebars. The power remaining in the battery is shown here and you can also switch between the three power modes at the push of a button. All Kalkhoff pedelec bikes are designed to ride beautifully without power - but assistance is always there when you need it!

Gears - All Kalkhoff pedelec bikes are fitted with a Shimano Nexus gear hub. These require little maintenance and are especially easy to use in busy conditions where frequent stops and gear changes are necessary. A choice of 7-speed (Agattu) and 8-speed (Pro Connect) are available.

Saddle - You'll want to spend a lot of time and cover a lot of ground on your bike, so Kalkhoff bikes come with a very comfy saddle as standard.

The Power Pack

All Kalkhoff Electric Bikes are supplied with the winning Panasonic motor and battery combination. The Panasonic battery pack has a built in LED battery power indicator and carrying handle. It weighs a little over 2kg and can power the bike for up to 40-50 miles in eco mode, 30-35 in standard mode and around 25-30 in high power mode, depending on terrain, riders weight, etc. The battery has a lifetime of 500 full charge cycles. Since their introduction in 2004, Panasonic have expanded their battery range to include the 26V 10Ah Lithium Manganese stack-laminated technology used in the latest Kalhoff electric bikes. In terms of both safety and suitability for use in light electric vehicles, stack laminated batteries compare favourably with the other Lithium battery chemistries. The Panasonic battery pack used in our Kalkhoff electric bikes also benefits from a unique sleep mode function that protects against self-discharge when not in use. It works by cutting off power to the onboard control circuits which would otherwise require a small amount of charge. Panasonic compare this to bears conserving resources when hibernating at winter. The battery can be revived simply by placing it back on the charger. So when you buy a Kalkhoff pedelec bicycle you can rely on the best, safest and most reliable battery technology available from Panasonic, a brand known worldwide for its quality and innovation. They're so confident that each battery comes with a 2-year warranty, which is unheard of in the electric bike world, where a 6-month warranty is the norm!

Delivery

As each bike is assembled, tested & reboxed before dispatch delivery is normally within 5-7 working days. When you receive the bike you'll just need to straighten the bars, attach the pedals and you're off!

Availability

On occasions certain sizes may go out of stock due to the high demand for these bikes. When this occurs or if we are showing the item out of stock you are more than welcome to place the bike on back order. All we require is an authorisation against a credit/debit card (just like is done in a hotel) to secure the order. No money will be charged to your card until we are in a position to dispatch your bike. You are of course welcome to cancel the order at anytime prior to charging.

Warranty

All Kalkhoff pedelec bikes (the Agattu & Pro Connect ) are covered by a two-year manufacturer's warranty on both the bicycle and the battery. This means that if a fault develops within that two-year period Kalkhoff agree to replace faulty parts in order for your bike to be repaired. On occasions there may be a need for the bicycle to be returned to the workshop for some work. You are of course welcome to make your own arrangements for return and collection but we are now able to offer through 50 Cycles extended cover that includes collection and return of your bicycle as often as is required throughout the warranty period. We also offer an additional year of cover for those who want longer term peace of mind.

Collect and return for 2 years £200 - For two years from the date of delivery, if we agree that your bike needs to return to our workshop, we will collect your bicycle and return it to you once the work has been completed - Please Select Below

Collect and return for 3 years including 1-year warranty extension £300 - For three years from the date of delivery, if we agree that your bike needs to return to our workshop, we will collect your bicycle and return it to you once the work has been completed. This option also extends the warranty cover on the bicycle for one additional year i.e. we will carry the cost of parts supplied by the manufacturer outside their own warranty period. The additional year of cover does not include the battery pack as these are sold with a lifetime of two years. However, your battery pack may remain operationally useful for more than two years. A warranty certificate valid from the date of purchase will be sent to you. You must notify us of any change in address or contact details so that we can provide the best service to you. Warranties cover manufacturing faults and defects but not damage caused by wear and tear, crashing or abuse. Please keep original packaging, paperwork and your proof of purchase.
